Meet the 2023 Southeast Finance Conference Board of Directors

Carol Reynolds, MAI

Board Member

Carol Reynolds, MAI is professionally recognized as an authority on valuation, operational overview, and market feasibility for senior housing and healthcare across the United States. These include psychiatric hospitals (adult and adolescent), rehabilitation hospitals, assisted living facilities, group homes, acute-care hospitals, CCRCs, independent living and active adult communities.

Carol has extensive operational experience for independent living and assisted living services and is the owner/operator of The Cottages on Mountain Creek, a specialty Neuro-Behavioral Center of Excellence for adults living the cognitive behavioral issues.

Carol holds  a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate from Georgia State University, obtaining her MAI (Member of the Appraisal Institute) in 2000 and her CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) in 2002.

Carol also has experience processing Joint Commission Applications, state licensing application, policy and procedures for assisted living services and residency handbooks that fill the gaps.

Keith Seeloff, CPA

Board Member

Keith Seeloff is currently the Partner-in-Charge of the FORVIS Healthcare Senior Living Practice, which is part of the FORVIS Healthcare Finance team. He has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, primarily serving the senior housing sector. The FORVIS Healthcare Finance team offers advisory services such as strategic planning, financial forecasting, market demand analysis, third party reimbursement, operational audits, and systems review. Within the senior housing sector, Keith’s team has supported healthcare providers across the country with projects representing more than $19 billion of capital raised and have provided strategic planning, market analysis, volume forecasting, and economic feasibility support for more than 150 unique healthcare markets. Due to his knowledge and experience in healthcare and senior living specifically, Keith has regularly served in litigation support roles including as a subject matter fact and expert witness.

Keith has been a key participant in more than 100 continuing care retirement community development projects, including startup communities, existing campus repositionings, and obligated group financings. Additionally, he has conducted financial analyses of merger and acquisition transactions and financing structures to include valuations, due diligence, economic feasibility analyses, and market feasibility analyses for proposed and existing healthcare and other retirement housing projects.

Paul Stegenga, Architect

Board Member

Paul Stegenga is a nationally recognized Architect, who has been a leader in seniors housing, assisted living, and skilled nursing communities for more than 30 years, with projects in forty-two States and the USVI.

His mission is to deliver exceptional design ideas and solutions through the creative blending of human need, expertise, value creation, and environmental stewardship. The Studio’s belief is that better buildings make for a better world. A successful building is one that improves daily life for the people who live and work around it.

Paul earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Illinois.
