Keith Seeloff is currently the Partner-in-Charge of the FORVIS Healthcare Senior Living Practice, which is part of the FORVIS Healthcare Finance team. He has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, primarily serving the senior housing sector. The FORVIS Healthcare Finance team offers advisory services such as strategic planning, financial forecasting, market demand analysis, third party reimbursement, operational audits, and systems review. Within the senior housing sector, Keith’s team has supported healthcare providers across the country with projects representing more than $19 billion of capital raised and have provided strategic planning, market analysis, volume forecasting, and economic feasibility support for more than 150 unique healthcare markets. Due to his knowledge and experience in healthcare and senior living specifically, Keith has regularly served in litigation support roles including as a subject matter fact and expert witness.
Keith has been a key participant in more than 100 continuing care retirement community development projects, including startup communities, existing campus repositionings, and obligated group financings. Additionally, he has conducted financial analyses of merger and acquisition transactions and financing structures to include valuations, due diligence, economic feasibility analyses, and market feasibility analyses for proposed and existing healthcare and other retirement housing projects.
Robert O. Cotes, MD, is an Associate Professor at Emory University School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He is the Director of the Clinical & Research Program for Psychosis at Grady Health System, which is comprised of two clinical programs: 1. PSTAR Clinic (Persistent Symptoms: Treatment, Assessment and Recovery) and 2. Project ARROW (Achieving Recovery through Resilience, Optimism, and Wellness).
The PSTAR Clinic provides evidence-based, recovery-oriented care for individuals with persistent symptoms of psychosis, specializing in the use of clozapine. Zvi M. Rhine has a decade of experience in overseeing skilled nursing facilities and other senior housing facilities. Zvi currently serves as the President of TLC ERETZ Management, LLC., which focuses on managing, owning and operating senior housing facilities primarily in the Southeast and Midwest regions. Previously, Zvi was the President of Global Healthcare REIT (“Global”) from 2015–2020, a public company which has owned or operated up to thirteen senior housing facilities.
At Global, Zvi inherited an insolvent company with inadequate financial and clinical performance across its portfolio. Zvi led the effort to reposition several assets including the comprehensive renovation and reopening of four buildings which achieved Medicare and Medicaid recertification. Under Zvi’s leadership, Global transitioned from a property holding company to an owner and operator of its facilities.
Jim Swan is a Managing Director and the Senior Living Practice Lead in the Public Finance Investment Banking Department at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. Jim has a broad range of experience in the senior living sector, as he has been an investment banker on behalf of for-profit and not-for-profit clients and most recently as an owner/operator at Meridian Senior Living, where he was responsible for identifying acquisition targets, securing capital partners and managing the renovation and construction requirements of certain projects, and identifying distressed senior living properties and investment opportunities.
Carol Reynolds, MAI, has worked in the senior living and healthcare industries for over 30 years and is professionally recognized as an authority on valuation, operational overview, and market feasibility for senior housing and healthcare across the United States. Carol holds a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate from Georgia State University, obtaining her MAI (Member of the Appraisal Institute) in 2000 and her CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) in 2002.
Kathleen B. Shields, is the Founder and President of Health Financing Consultants, Inc. She possesses over 30 years of underwriting experience in the healthcare industry, including ten years as a commercial lender. Her academic achievements include a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics (magna cum laude) from Duke University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland (College Park).
For 25 years Ms. Shields has specialized in providing financing services to the healthcare and senior living industries, assisted with new construction projects, as well as refinancing and project acquisitions. She has been a speaker at numerous seminars and conferences focusing on capital formation for senior living providers including ALFA, National Health Lawyers, Health Facilities Association of Maryland, VHCA and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. She has also served as a visiting lecturer for the Johns Hopkins Master’s Program.
Kevin Oakley is a Director with Lument, a division of ORIX Real Estate Capital (OREC) that specializes in providing capital funding to the senior living and health care sectors. Kevin is based out of the firm’s Southeast office in Atlanta, and currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is a leading investment banker for the firm’s national origination efforts and maintains a particular focus across the Southeast and mid-Atlantic markets.
Since joining the bank as an analyst in 2014, Kevin has originated or executed nearly $2 billion in transactions. Product types include agency mortgages (FHA/HUD, Fannie Mae, etc.), taxable and tax-exempt bonds, bridge loans, equity investments and M&A advisory services. He’s worked on financing transactions at every stage of an asset’s lifecycle, from ground up construction to refinance and recapitalization, through disposition. Prior to joining the firm, he held multiple positions with derivatives trading, and interest rate swaps desks at Deutsche Bank in New York City.
Kevin holds professional licenses through FINRA and MSRB as a registered investment banking representative (Series 79), uniform securities agent state law (Series 63), and municipal securities representative (Series 52). He currently serves as a member of advisory committees for multiple state-level associations and is an active member and presenter for various other state, regional and national seniors housing and healthcare organizations.
Leslie Finkley is the Chief Operating Officer for Orchard Management Group, currently managing two assisted living communities in Georgia. She earned her master’s degree in counseling with a focus in gerontology from the University of Virginia. Since entering the field of senior living in 1998, Leslie has worked in various settings and roles helping to redefine the vision, purpose, and opportunities in senior communities. Her commitment to people living with dementia led her to work with dementia care expert Teepa Snow’s company Positive Approach to Care. Traveling the country training professionals was formative in Leslie increasing her understanding of the unmet needs and challenges in senior living. Today as CEO, Leslie continues to raise the standards of senior living through new approaches to dementia care, training, and environmental design.
Alanna Ellis is a Director in Seattle of JLL Capital Markets, Americas specializing in the placement of debt and equity for Senior Housing on the West Coast. Alanna has over 22 years of commercial real estate and lending experience.
Before coming to JLL in March 2020, Alanna spent 13 years as a Senior Partner with IPG Investments where she had a heavy focus in development capital, bridge lending, and structured finance for Senior Housing and Hospitality.
Louis Adolph Casal, M.D. is currently a staff Psychiatrist-Liaison Psychiatry at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (1998 to present). Dr. Casal is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine (September 1998 to present) and has a private practice for adults.
Past endeavors included being the Organizing Director for Private Bank of Buckhead (January 2005 to January 2017). During this tenure Dr. Casal planned and raised capital, recruited team members, opened and grew the bank and profitably sold the bank.
Dr. Casal is a Board Certified Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology: General Psychiatry (April 1996-2006) and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (1996- 2027), as well as an American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Examiner.
Lisa Legeer joined the LifeSpire of Virginia team as Chief Strategy and Integration Officer in June 2021, where she is responsible for leading strategic planning and growth. Lisa has more than 25 years of experience serving senior living and healthcare organizations with strategic and development planning, performance improvement, marketing/market research and other advisory services.
Before joining the LifeSpire of Virginia team, Lisa served as senior vice president of strategic partnerships at GlynnDevins and as a principal in the senior living practice at DHG (now FORVIS). Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Rhetoric and Communications Studies from the University of Virginia.
